some random thoughts from tonight:
okay, bg deserved to win.
that being said, it's not cool to have judges that happen to be verrry chummy with *their* coach, who also judged the exhibition that they hosted. erm.
phillipsburg osceola did NOT deserve second, thanks.
ah, yes, the fieldhouse was tonight. the place seemed empty compared to last year since there were only 5 teams. i wasnt really nervous going out there, but i wasnt really pumped, either. it was a strange, ambivalent sort of feeling. we were the first to go out, which i think was a big disadvantage...it definately wasnt our best routine. we had some falls, and we ended up getting third (ONE point away from second), but as previously mentioned up there, we shouldve been ahead of good old phillipsburg. our difficulty level was a lot higher than theirs, and they had falls too. but we had the best fans, no question. and the most... so many people came out with their central garb on. my grandma, aunt, sunday school teacher, and even my dad got me flowers, the ever-supporting williamsburg cheerleaders and our wonderful lady dragon basketball players got everyone flowers, the parent group got us a central bear and t-shirts, and i somehow ended up with balloons from someone. muchas gracias to everyone! i kinda think people were expecting us to win, so i feel bad if we disappointed anyone. our group didnt have any falls, but my hair started coming out during the dance which very well couldve caused us points. groups that fell were really upset, and there was a lot of emotion otherwise...in the program it said "tonight's performance is dedicated to jenna". and after our routine niki got us together and told us how proud she was that we were even out there doing the routine after everything that happened to us this year, and that jenna wouldnt want us to be sad...which was sad in itself, really.
we have another competition saturday at upj...up against forest hills, richland, bg, johnstown, some other people...yeah. it's not gonna be easy but we'll give it our all. if im sounding all sappy and motivational-speaker-ish, blame it on ap english. we started friday and we're doing poetry (dun dun dun) for the first 3 weeks, gah. i really like my 2nd period, though- guidance helper, which is basically a study hall- even though the fun that was analytical reading is over. i guess what this all really means is that we'll be getting our grades soon. my lowest is spanish, raise your hand if you're surprised. [definately keeps hands down] i actually have a 95 in it, but that always goes down faster than a...relatively fast torpedo during the 2nd marking period. speaking of espanol, vamos a DC en martes! lots of people are going, including mrs. clawson's honors english class. she was just hanging around the spanish room at the beginning of class today, and we got her to say 'no prueba hoy, por favor!' she even added her own little flair by dramatically falling to her knees. (we still had the quiz)
tomorrow we dont have practice! what will i do with myself? getting my eyebrows waxed would probably be a good idea.
david letterman had his baby! ..actually, in retrospect, it was probably his girlfriend who had it. anyway. a little letterman =)
the matrix revolutions opens up tomorrow!
swimming starts NEXT WEEK. we STILL are not 100.00% sure where we're swimming. might get the altoona campus to use for practice or meets or something after december. let's all say a prayer tonight.
it's amazing how much i don't care about today's elections. i dont think ive ever cared about anything less in my entire life.
mmm, more randomness. it goes down all smooth-like. bg still sucks.
