a quick lesson in numbers:

usual temperature of pool: 85-90 degrees
temperatures of pool last week because of the heater problem: 75, down to 70
temperature of pool today: sixty - seven. 67. SIXTY. SEVEN.
temperature of water that our coach designated as the 'cut-off point' because it's way too cold to practice effectively in: 66
length of time until this problem is fixed: 2 weeks
number of ideas about what to do meanwhile: 0.

but for now .. until thursday, at least.. we dont have to worry about it. we have our first swim meet tomorrow at tyrone. we're supposed to do alright, unless we all die from severe rapidly progressive common colds.
