i just came back from (an admittedly freakishly difficult- 12 100s and 8 200s for time :-( ) practice...at the gorgeous, 6 lane, warmer than 66 degrees, clean, beautiful pool at the altoona campus. it's only our second day of practice there, but we're all head over heels in love, and i dont know what we're going to do if/when we have to go back to the ghetto. the school was actually nice for once and got a time slot there for us, although we do have to leave school 15 minutes early. what a pity :D. we BARELY won our meet against tyrone because our times all sucked massively (including mine, claro que si) but we had more people than them. it was one of those down to the wire ones where i actually had to try during the 400 relay. that is the devil's relay. i bet he swims it all the time...him and steve case and the olsens.
woo, got my car. i thought of a name for it- mitzi cause it's a mitsubishi...dang that's hard to spell. i havent really gotten a chance to enjoy it thoroughly because of the storm friday- i wasnt even allowed to go anywhere- and the rest of the weekend i drove but verrrry cautiously. blair county sucks at clearing the roads; they cut back on funding and everything. i did go into altoona saturday for seven and a half freaking hours to watch the guys play, but aaron and i were so bored because most of the time they werent playing, obviously. other people were. we stuck around on the hope that we might go out to eat afterwards (we didnt) and to find out who won. what's up with me and parenthesis today? anyway, i almost caused major choas. aar and i left for awhile and she took me to get my car that was in a far away parking lot, but when we went back, there was only one space left and she took it. so she was like, 'just park beside nick's car'...which was not exactly a parking space. it was blocking this little walkway thing, but we figured no one would be using it. well. they made an announcement in between sets that a car was blocking someone, and guess who's it was? so i go out there, and it's a fucking POLICE vehicle on this thing that isnt even a road. nobody was around, so i go to move it, and this woman comes out and starts chastizing me about how there was a medical emergency and they couldnt get through and they had to dispatch another car and how i should NEVER, ever, do that again. and as im moving my car im feeling bad and silently cursing aaron because i never would have parked there if she didnt suggest it. there was no where else to park, so i got on a road to go back to the far away parking lot, and suddenly another police car whips around in front of me, blocking the road. !!! im thinking, 'oh my god! they're going to arrest me!' or at least fine me, or something equally awful. they didnt, though. apparently it was the other dispatched vehicle, and the big emergency was clearing cars off of the road that were in a wreck. so i have to turn around, and i dont know where im going to go because there's no place to park and i dont know the roads, so i cant continue on that road the other way. but as im going back where i came from, the same police car as the one i first encountered whips out about 200 yards in front of me. my train of thought at this point is somewhere along the lines of 'what. the. fuck?' i have to keep driving, though, and they backed up so i could get through. i went back into the same parking lot in which i was parked illegally and, thank God, found a space. it was just crazyness. i thought they were out to get me, having a little fun maybe. but anyway, im getting used to it and it's nice, but im really sad for my mazda.
suzy was in an accident today :/. she's okay, but i fear for her car. she went around a bend too fast, and it was in a creek the last i heard. the poor girl is going to lose her license if she keeps this up.
okay, ap english just started to kick my ass today, so ive got to go do another poetry paper.
